Hear your rap name in a real rap
Press Rap it next to a name and it goes into the generator below as the name, with Rapped picked and a beat that fits the style. Add a few true details (a birthday, a team, a habit) and the AI writes verses and a hook around the name and raps it. You hear the first 60 seconds of both versions free, then keep the whole rap for $4.99, paid once. It works as a birthday rap for a friend, too: put their rap name in instead of yours.
What happened when we tested it
On 2026-11-07 we made two raps with the site's own song steps, filled in the way Rap it fills the form: "MC Dani" in the old school style ("my 30th birthday, I run every morning, I still can't cook", female voice) and "Lil Theo" in the for-kids style ("turning 7, loves dinosaurs and soccer, just lost his front tooth", male voice). Both lyrics came back with the rap name opening the first verse and filling the hook. Each rap came as two versions, about 1:50 to 2:45 long, and a speech recognizer heard the rap name 19 to 30 times in each version, 10 to 12 of them in the first minute, the part you hear free.
It wrote what it heard, though: "MC Danny" for every MC Dani (the same sound), and "Lil Tio" for most of the Lil Theos: the recognizer often heard a T sound (TEE-oh) instead of TH. If your name has a sound people get wrong, try opening "Hard to say? Add how it sounds" in the generator and typing the whole rap name the way it's said (Lil THEE-oh); the lyrics keep your spelling. We haven't tested that on a rap yet.
How to pick a rap name
- Start from your real name. A nickname, your initials or a piece of your name is easier to remember and feels like yours. Eminem comes from Marshall Mathers's initials, M&M.
- Keep it short. One to three words that a crowd can shout. If it needs explaining, cut it.
- Match the sound. "Lil" and "Young" read as trap, "MC" and "DJ" as old school, a cold or heavy word as drill. Pick the style first, then the name.
- Make it searchable. Spell it so people can find you, and avoid names that are already a famous artist or a brand.
- Say it out loud. Announce yourself with your top three ("Put your hands up for…"). The one that sounds best shouted usually wins.
Writing a song rather than a rap? The song title generator gives title ideas by mood, and if your name is often said wrong, the phonetic spelling generator gives a spelling the AI singer reads.

Questions
Is it free?
Yes. Make as many rap names as you like, with no account and no limit. It runs in your browser, and what you type isn't sent to our server. Only the song further down the page is paid: the first 60 seconds of both versions are free, and keeping the rap is $4.99.
How does it make a rap name from my name?
Type your first name or nickname and it goes into patterns written for each style: "Lil" and "Young" for trap, "MC" and "DJ" for old school, "Kold" and "Iron" for hard, "Smooth" and "Velvet" for smooth, and sillier ones for funny and for kids. With a name, the first ten have about six made from it and the rest from the 192 names we wrote; press More names for more.
Is the rap name already taken?
Maybe. We leave out the stage names of well-known rappers we know of (so typing Wayne won't give you Lil Wayne), but nobody can check every artist. Before you use a name in public, search it on Spotify, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok, and pick one nobody is using.
Can I use the name for my music?
Yes, they're free to use. In the US, copyright does not protect names, titles or short phrases (US Copyright Office). A name already used by a known artist or a brand can still cause trouble, which is why searching it first matters.
What makes a good rap name?
Short, easy to say in one breath and easy to spell when someone searches for it. A piece of your real name helps people remember it. Say it the way a hype man would announce you: if it sounds right shouted, it works.
Can I hear a rap with my new name in it?
Yes. Press Rap it next to a name and it goes into the generator below as the name, with Rapped and a beat that fits the style already picked. Add two or three details about yourself or the person it's for; the AI writes the verses and a hook with the name and raps it. You hear 60 seconds of both versions free, then keep it for $4.99.
